Thieves cause damage to RVs at dealership

Some burglars' plans unraveled early Monday after they broke into a Lexington business.

The thieves cut a hole in a fence at Northside R.V. on North Broadway.

They then grabbed 20 batteries from RVs that were for sale at the dealership and had them loaded in a pickup truck.

However, a security guard was too fast for them and made sure they couldn't drive away.

"I seen a generator laying by the fence, there was a hole cut in the side of it, then I looked over there was a pickup backed next to our storage building. I took the keys so who ever broke in wasn't going to drive off with the truck," said Ron Clark who works security at Northside RV.

We are told that pickup truck was stolen from a local company, Fleet Service Incorporated.

Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST that $2,000 in damage was done to the RVs, since the batteries were just cut from the vehicles.

Police haven't made any arrests.
