A federal inmate is about to stand trial for charges related to his escape from a prison van, as it traveled through central Kentucky.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Derek Capozzi's trial will begin tomorrow at the federal courthouse in Lexington.
In April, Capozzi managed to escape from a van transporting him through Woodford County on the Blue Grass Parkway.
He was found a couple of days later in Versailles.
In an interview with 27 NEWSFIRST in July, Capozzi said he escaped because he needed medical attention for a hole in his heart.
Capozzi was in a federal prison serving time for conspiracy to commit murder.
A federal grand jury indicted Capozzi on escape charges.
