Two hurt in crash that killed horse

A road has reopened after a serious accident involving a horse.

Lexington Police say three horses were out, running loose along Georgetown Road, near Kearney Road, when one of the horses was hit by a car.

Police had Georgetown Road closed for about 45 minutes early Wednesday as they corralled the other two horses.

The horse that was hit had to be put down.

The driver and passenger of the car received minor injuries in the wreck.

Police are trying to find the owner of the horses.
