LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The University of Kentucky is planning to
celebrate the second anniversary its Tobacco-free Campus Initiative
with speakers and an update of how the campus is progressing.
The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. EST Monday at the Student
Center, is the first of a weeklong celebration culminating in the
American Cancer Society's Annual Great American Smokeout.
Attendees on Monday will hear personal testimonials from a
Kentucky student athlete and a university employee about what a
tobacco-free campus means to them
The University of Kentucky's Tobacco-free policy began on Nov.
19, 2009, with the goal of making Kentucky a healthier place to
live, work and learn.
