United States Army Major Neil Craig to speak at Rotary Club of Lexington

LEXINGTON, KY – The Rotary Club of Lexington will hold its weekly meeting Thursday, September 20, at 12:00 p.m., at Fasig-Tipton, 2400 Newtown Pike. The special guest speaker will be Major Neil Craig, who will be introduced by Rotarian Tom Baker. Major Craig’s topic will be Pre-deployment Training for Troops to Return to Afghanistan.

A native of Lufkin, Texas, Major Craig is an Engineer Officer. He is currently assigned as the Executive Officer for 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team “Bastogne,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, KY.

Major Craig is currently preparing to deploy to Regional Command East, Afghanistan, in November 2012. He has 15 years of active duty experience to include multiple deployments to the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan.

His previous assignments include 1st Armored Division in Germany; 20th Engineer Brigade (Airborne) at Ft. Bragg, NC; Savannah District, US Army Corps of Engineers; and 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Headquarters.

He is a graduate of both Texas A&M University and North Carolina State University, and is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

He is married to Rachael Carroll Craig of Temple, Texas. The Craigs have two daughters, ages 5 years and 6 months.
