LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The vice presidential debate is over, but one candidate spent the morning in Lexington.

Paul Ryan had breakfast at Josie's in Chevy Chase on Friday.

"He was a complete gentleman. Extremely polite. Complimentary. His family was adorable," said Josie's owner, Jennifer Murray.

Ryan's wife, Janna, and their three children were there as well.

"I can't even imagine the things that they have to go through on a daily basis," Murray said.

About a dozen Ryan staff members were also there, as well as secret service agents guarding the outside of the restaurant.

We're told Ryan had an omelet.

"It was just thrilling. He is, politics aside, potentially the next vice president," said Murray.

A reporter at the restaurant asked Ryan how he felt about Thursday night's debate.

"I felt great about it," Ryan responded.

Ryan and his family left the restaurant just before noon.

"Everyone was just very nice. We were just very pleased that they chose us and enjoyed breakfast."
