A private and public memorial service is being planned for long-time politician Gatewood Galbraith. He died Wednesday in his Lexington home of what the coroner said was complications from chronic emphysema.
Visitation for family and close friends only will be held next Tuesday. The service will be from four to eight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, formerly the Campbell House on Harrodsburg Road.
Plans for a public service will be announced soon. His family is waiting for one of Gatewood's daughters to get home from New Zealand before finalizing funeral plans.
Milward Funeral Directors in Lexington is handling the arrangements.
