Wintry blast means braving the cold

It's shaping up to be an overall sluggish day around Lexington.
People deiced their cars Friday morning, only to get on roads where traffic is slow-going.

Most of the main roads are clear of snow and ice, except for some isolated slick spots, but snow is covering many neighborhood streets and side roads.

The temperature dipped below zero early Friday morning with the wind chill.

"I'm freezing!" says UK student Denzel Patterson, "Really, really cold right now!"

It was a frigid start to the day for students like Patterson out walking. Some students on the UK campus say the wind has made walking difficult and has really made it feel even colder.

"The wind blowing in my face," Patterson says.

Another student tells NEWSFIRST the wind even makes it tough to breathe.
