"I call them Christmas angels."

Zondra Ratliff is referring to whoever paid her layaway balance at Kmart. She was notified Saturday that someone picked up the tab for the gifts she plans to give to several grandchildren.
She at first thought it might have been one of her kids.

"I said did you all go out there and pay my layaway. And they said no, and I said don't be lying to me now."

But after asking the staff at Kmart...

"Found out there was a Christmas angel out there that's giving to a lot of people."

She says the just over sixty dollar total was reduced to just one dollar and some change.

"It's a wonderful gift that they're giving people. And we need more like that, we need a lot of loving and caring in the world these days."

She says whoever did it, helped her buy those gifts for her grandkids, has earned a special place in her heart.

"A great wonderful feeling deep inside. Cause I love my kids and my grandkids, and just knowing that now I'm able to give them this is a great gift."

She hopes to one day return the favor, and be someone else's Christmas angel.

"I wish that I could do something like this. And I'm glad that there are people that are able."
