Employees at xpedx in Lexington are keeping a fellow worker in their thoughts after he was pinned between a tractor trailer and a loading dock. People who were in the parking lot when the accident happened said they were shocked.
"Oh it was terrible. I've never seen nothing like that in my life. Never," said Melvin Knight, who saw the accident from his truck.
Knight says Eddie Brannock was standing on the loading dock when he popped his head out to talk to someone.
"He stuck his head out of the doorway and the truck smashed him and smashed against the wall and the truck. They asked me to go get some blankets so I went in there and got some blankets to cover him up so he wouldn't go into shock," said Knight.
Lexington Police's Collision Reconstruction Unit was on the scene taking pictures and trying to find out exactly how the accident happened.
"They'll be inspecting the truck to make sure everything works, the backup beeper, the lighting, the things of that nature, the mirrors. We'll also be talking to a couple witnesses that were here that saw what happened," said Lieutenant Chris Van Brackel.
Brannock was rushed to UK Hospital. Family members say he has several facial fractures and at least one skull fracture, but that he was responding to commands at the scene. They say he's still in emergency care.
"There's a lot of support in that room. A lot of family here are all praying and pulling for him," described cousin Lanny Brannock.
Workers at xpedx say Brannock's worked there for more than 20 years.
