Posted: 07/17/2014 - Lexington, KY. -- The East End Family Reunion Coalition and the Center for Families and Community Services would like to invite community members to plant a seed for the future by joining the 1st Annual Planting Seeds for the Future Skate/Walk on August 9, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. The start location is Charles Young Community Center, 540 East Third Street. All proceeds will be used to establish programs at Charles Young Community Center that significantly improves the educational and developmental outcomes of the children living in the inner-city of LFUC. The proposed programming will include afterschool supplemental academic support to help children meet state and local academic standards in school, as well as activities that promote physical development, such as skating. Our overall goal is to encourage children to reach their fullest potential and foster a sense of pride and comradery.
