Former deputy clerks plead not guilty to abusing the public's trust

INEZ, Ky. (WYMT) - Two former Martin County deputy clerks, indicted by a grand jury for allegedly abusing the public's trust, plead not guilty.

Tanya Mills and Tammy Hairston were indicted after the state auditor's office found more than $20,000 missing from the clerk's office.

The clerk, Carol Sue Mills, fired her daughters after learning of the missing money.

She says Hairston may have been helping mills with an addiction problem.
