Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes will send a mobile office to eastern Kentucky communities ravaged by tornadoes last month.
Grimes has scheduled a news conference for 10:30 a.m. EDT Thursday outside the Capitol to unveil the travel-trailer that will be pulled from place to place to make it easier for people still recovering from the storms to file government paperwork.
A series of storms and tornadoes that hopscotched across the state on March 2 killed at least 24 people and damaged or destroyed more than 2,000 homes and businesses.
The federal government is reimbursing state and local governments a portion of the cost of restoring public infrastructure and providing hard-hit residents with low-interest loans to help them rebuild or repair their homes.
