ATLANTA (AP) - Drew Little threw for a 287 yards and four
touchdowns to lead Georgia State to a 37-10 over Morehead State on
Little, who completed 21 of 29 passes and no interceptions,
threw touchdown passes of 12, 2, 6 and 12 yards for the Panthers
Danny Williams caught eight balls for 101 yards to became the
first player in the first-year program's history to surpass 100
receiving yards in a game.
The aggressive Georgia State defense frustrated a Morehead State
offense that scored 45 points last week, limiting the Eagles (2-3)
to 280 yards - 50 on the ground - and forced four turnovers.
Morehead State quarterback Zach Lewis was under pressure
throughout the game, completing 27 of 44 passes for 230 yards and
two interceptions. Lewis threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Jaison
Yoshimra for the Eagles' only touchdown. Ron McDermott had nine
receptions for 79 yards.
Georgia State scored on its first two possession, with Little
throwing to Giles for the a 6-yard touchdown and Parris Lee added a
4-yard scoring run for a 14-0 lead. The two teams exchanged field
goals - Morehead State getting a 27-yarder from Ranier Duzan and
Georgia State getting a school-record 49-yarder by Iain Vance.
Georgia State added two touchdown passes before the half to take
a 30-3 lead and complete the team's most prolific first half of the
Georgia State picked up 152 yards rushing, with Travis Evans
gaining 62 yards and Lee adding 38 yards and one touchdown. Desmond
Cox led Morehead State with 38 rushing yards.
