Work begins this week to repave a mile of the Morehead Bypass (U.S. 60) in Rowan County.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says construction workers are performing concrete work at sidewalk ramps through Tuesday.
On Wednesday, they're expected to start milling, or removing old asphalt, between the Highway 519 intersection and Morehead State University's academic and athletic center.
Paving will then follow. Transportation officials say that is expected to continue through next week.
Transportation officials say milling and paving operations will take place during nighttime work hours, which are between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily.
The work is being done at night in an effort to reduce traffic impacts.
Transportation officials say drivers should expect lane closures and possible delays during road work. They also say travel could be on rough surfaces at times.
