MOREHEAD Ky.(WYMT)- In Rowan County where a young college student, found shot to death inside her home, was laid to rest this afternoon.
21-year old Cassandra Owens was gunned down last week.. Police have charged 26-year old Casey Shay with her murder.
Shay plead 'not guilty' to the charges this morning, he is due back in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Owens was a sophomore at Morehead State University and the mother of a two-year-old daughter. Her funeral was held this afternoon in Morehead.
