MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State seniors Tony Bachman and Jerome Raymond were both named to the 2011 FCS Senior Scout Bowl Preseason All-American Football Team.
Raymond, a defensive end from Lawrenceville, Ga., was named to the North Defensive First Team. Last season for the Eagles, Raymond collected 59 tackles and led the team in sacks (11.5) and fumble recoveries (3).
Bachman, a linebacker from Miamisburg, Ohio, was selected to the North Defensive Second Team. Bachman led Morehead State last season with 122 tackles and led the team in solo tackles with 41.
The FCS Senior Scout Bowl is a post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA Football Championship Series. This bowl game is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League and will be held December 17, 2011 in Myrtle Beach, SC. This team recognizes the football achievements of senior players who are entering their final season on the FCS level. The FCS Senior Scout Bowl selection committee will review player performances throughout the 2011 season and are committed to bring 86 of the top football players to the FCS Scout Bowl.
Morehead State’s football team will open its season on Thursday, Sept. 1 against Kentucky Christian. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
