Police make a theft arrest while conducting a safety checkpoint.
State police tell WKYT they found several heater cores and hundreds of pounds of copper and aluminum inside Matthew Jenkins' car during the checkpoint at US 60 and Bluestone Road in Rowan County.
They say Jenkins and Donald Holbrook stole the items from Old Salt Lick Elementary in Bath County.
Both are charged with receiving stolen property.
