Three people now face charges after police say they were involved in a convenience store burglary in Nicholasville.
Nicholasville Police arrested 28-year-old John C. Griffin, 40-year-old Anthony "Dino" Ashley, and 33-year-old Brittney M. Smith.
Griffin and Ashley are charged with third degree Burglary, while Smith is charged with third degree Complicity to Commit Burglary.
Police say surveillance video at the Pit Stop gas station on Richmond Avenue showed two men kicking in the back door of the store around 10:45 Sunday night.
Police say the video then showed the men stealing tobacco, alcohol, and scratch-off lottery tickets.
The burglary was reported to police the following morning, after an employee arrived for work.
Police say detectives were able to trace the serial numbers of the stolen lottery tickets, and found some of them had been cashed at a Speedway gas station in Nicholasville, and other tickets had been cashed in Lexington.
Police say they used surveillance video from the Pit Stop and from the gas stations that cashed the lottery tickets to identify and arrest Ashley. They say further investigation led to the arrests of Griffin and Smith.
Police say they recovered most of the stolen items after serving a search warrant on Smith's home.
