A taxi driver, who police say was stabbed overnight by his fare, continues to recover at the hospital.
At last check, Andy Boggess is listed in critical condition at UK hospital.
His wife say he spent all day in surgery and will spend the next few weeks in intensive care, recovering from his stab wounds.
Jessamine county police arrested 33-year-old Jason Oliver.
They say he stabbed Boggess several times in the neck and stomach while trying to rob him on Mingo Drive around 11:45 Thursday night.
Boggess' wife Jennifer tells 27 NEWSFIRST police were just a few doors down on another call when they heard Andy screaming.
They found Boggess in his van bleeding in several places.
Based on the description Boggess gave them of the man who attacked him, it didn't take long for them to find and arrest Oliver for assault and robbery.
Boggess' wife is thankful police were at the right place at the right time to help her husband.
"I just want everybody to know that my husband was a gentle person. This is just really shocking and everybody that talks to him says I can't imagine what Andy would do that would make him want to hurt them. He's just not that kind of person," Jennifer Boggess said.
Jennifer Boggess says the worst wound her husband is recovering from is one that goes across his arm.
She says he held up his arm in self defense and got stabbed.
A fund has been set up for Boggess at Fifth Third Bank to help out with his medical expenses.
