The extensive flooding of the Kentucky River continues to wreak havoc throughout the region and is the cause of significant damage to Time Warner Cable’s fiber feeding the cities of Nicholasville, Wilmore and Jessamine County. Customers in these communities are currently without service.
The flood waters have topped the poles which hold the fiber carrying the video and telecommunication services to these communities. Time Warner Cable fiber technicians have been assessing the damage, but dangerous conditions are hampering efforts to restore service.
Time Warner Cable General Manager Robert Trott says the technicians are on standby to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.
“We are closely monitoring the situation, but until the water recedes, we will not be able to assess the full extent of the damage. However, I can assure you we’ve had our most experienced fiber technicians on site and they will continue to work on getting services restored to our valued customers in the cities of Nicholasville, Wilmore and in the Jessamine County as safely and quickly as possible, he said.”
