The search for two fishermen, who had been missing for nearly a day, has a happy ending.
The men disappeared Thursday night while boating on the Kentucky River, at the Jessamine-Garrard County line.
After a frantic search, rescuers found them late Friday afternoon.
Mike Kendrick says he and a friend were fishing in the Kentucky River Thursday when they lost power to the motor of their boat.
Their families notified Fish and Wildlife officials around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
That's when the Jessamine County Fire Department was called to help with this search.
The two men were brought ashore just before 5 Friday afternoon.
Kendrick says he wasn't even expecting to be rescued. He just thought he'd have to flag down another boater for help.
"We sat still a few times when it got raining pretty hard and then got up and underneath a few trees," Kendrick said. "Tried to doze off a little bit but never really went to sleep, but it was a long day and a long night."
Kendrick was grateful for the rescue.
Neither man had to be taken to the hospital.
Fish and Wildlife officers say the two men were just fine, only soaked from spending the night in the rain.
