"Unrequited," a psychological thriller, will be showing at Amstar Theatres at Brannon Crossing Tuesday night.
Most of the movie was shot in Kentucky, with director Jason Epperson from Winchester and actress Sarah Habel, who talked to 27 NEWSFIRST hours before the premiere.
"I'm from Kentucky," says Epperson. "I had to do my first project in Kentucky."
Habel says Kentuckians were warm and welcoming when she arrived, exceeding her expectations of the state.
The movie was two years in the making, and Epperson says Kentucky had all the ingredients to produce a good film.
"I feel like we're really pioneers here in Kentucky," says Epperson. "We passed a big tax incentive. We were fortunate enough, to have all our locations for free, which doesn't happen in L.A."
It will perhaps bring Kentucky another step closer to becoming a film making destination, he says.
"In all honesty, I hope we can do every project here," says Epperson.
The private screening of the movie will be at 7:00 Tuesday, but the free public screening will be at 9:15, but those seats are available on a first come, first serve basis.
