Blue Grass Energy outage numbers continue to decrease

If members experience an interruption in service, we encourage them to report it through our outage number at 888-655-4243 or via our website at www.bgenergy.com.

Feb. 5, 2014 — As crews continue to work through the afternoon, outage numbers have fallen to 641. The outage locations continue to be widespread, spanning 12 central and north-central counties.

There are a total of 37 outages located in the following counties:
Anderson-7
Bourbon-7
Bracken-156
Franklin-70
Harrison-82
Henry-28
Madison-23
Mercer-1
Nicholas-28
Pendleton-90
Robertson-35
Scott-113
Woodford-1

Rugged terrain and icy conditions have made parts of the restoration slow going. Again, we reiterate that crews will work continuously until all service is restored. We anticipate the majority of members will have power by 9:00 p.m. this evening with the exception of a few individuals.

The latest count shows the storm caused two broken poles and 95 spans of downed wire. This number could rise as ice that has accumulated on the power lines falls, a “sling shot” effect of the wire can occur, causing additional outages.

If members experience an interruption in service, we encourage them to report it through our outage number at 888-655-4243 or via our website at www.bgenergy.com.

As always, Blue Grass Energy reminds members to stay away from downed power lines!
