A business owner says she had to buy surveillance cameras, because people kept stealing from her. it didn't take long for them to catch a crime on tape.

The Nicholasville business owner hopes the video helps police catch the thieves.

"They didn't have to steal from me, I do whatever I can to help people," Susanne Gullett said.

Gullett is the owner of The Elephant's Trunk, a resale store in Nicholasville. She says recent thefts have forced her to install an elaborate camera system.

"I hate that I had to do it, but being a small business owner, it's hard enough to make ends meet," she said.

This week, two women stopped outside of her store on S. Main. She says one came inside, while the other stayed outside. Then, when the woman outside thought no one was watching, she took off with a stroller.

"I think the woman who came inside was trying to distract me, while the other woman committed the theft outside," said Gullett.

She's hoping someone can help identify one or both women in the video and call Nicholasville Police.

"Well, I will probably never see the stroller again..but when people do wrong things they need to be punished," she said.

Gullett says, in the last couple of years, she's lost hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise to thefts.

"I have a big heart, if they really needed that stroller, I could have helped them."
