A drug roundup leads to arrest warrants being issued for nearly 100 people in central Kentucky.
For a year Nicholasville Police along with Kentucky State Police have worked together on the prescription drug operation.
On Tuesday, 96 indictments were released as part of an operation that included undercover work and informants.
The people targeted are charged with selling drugs in Jessamine County, but many of them come from Lexington and a few from nearby Garrard County.
Prescription drugs were targeted because of the devastating impact pills are having in eastern Kentucky.
" We've seen an increase in overdoses and a majority of the thefts we deal with are drug related," said Trooper Paul Blanton of the Kentucky State Police.
Blanton says they'll continue working to serve warrants in the coming weeks, but a number of the people who they got indictments for on Tuesday were already in jail on other charges, making them pretty easy to locate.
