Police in one central Kentucky county are investigating a string of burglaries.
They say several people have been hit in Jessamine County, and in many cases, the thieves have taken off with guns.
Jessamine County sheriff's deputies say they've dealt with more than a dozen burglaries in the past few weeks.
They say the crimes are concentrated to the west end of the county, leading them to believe the same person, or people, could be behind them all.
"Most of the time it's happening while people are at work," Jessamine County Deputy Sheriff Larry Oliver said.
Recently, police have responded to burglaries on Handy's Bend Road. Then Thursday, a home was burglarized on Clear Creek Road in the Keene community.
Another burglary happened off of Highway 68.
Investigators think the burglaries are likely connected.
In addition to guns, deputies say electronics like computers and televisions, and jewelry have been stolen.
Now, folks living in the area say they are taking measures to try and protect themselves.
"We feel pretty good;" explained Robert McClure, who has lived on Clear Creek for many years. "We have just installed a security system."
Deputies say they do have a couple of people they are looking at as potential suspects.
