Kentuckians will observe a moment of silence Monday to honor the victims of the Arizona shooting that wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky plans to be at Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville during the moment of silence at 11 a.m.
McConnell is then expected to visit the R.J. Corman hangar in Nicholasville.
The president will observe the tribute along with White House staff on the south lawn.
In wake of the shooting, Congress has also postponed all major legislative business this week unrelated to Congresswoman Giffords.
The president has signed a proclamation calling for flags to be flown at half-staff.
