A federal judge sentenced Robert Allen Walker, 41, of Nicholasville, to 188 months in prison for receiving child pornography. In the plea agreement, Walker admitted that he downloaded child pornography using a file sharing program called Frostwire between November of 2009 and April of 2010.
A forensic examination of the computer found at Walker’s residence revealed approximately 1,777 photographs and 59 videos of child pornography including children younger than 12 years old.
According to the plea agreement, a state search warrant was executed at Walker’s home on April 25, 2010 after investigators with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office conducted an undercover investigation into individuals sharing child pornography in
Kentucky. Federal prosecutors say Walker admitted during the search that he downloaded child pornography.
Walker has a misdemeanor sex abuse conviction from 1994.
Under federal law, Walker must serve 85%t of his prison sentence. Upon release, he will be under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for life.
