Danville Police arrested Justin Elliott in connection to at least four robberies in Boyle County. They say they're not the only agency interested in his arrest.
A little before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, the clerk at the Country Hearth Inn in Danville called 911. She told dispatchers a man came into the front office armed with a handgun and robbed her.
Within moments police had stopped 21-year-old Justin Elliott less than a hundred yards from the scene of the robbery.
"Once we took him in he confessed to several armed robberies in the Danville area," said Danville Police Chief Jay Newell.
Elliott has been charged with four robberies in Danville, but police think that's just the beginning. Agencies from Fayette and Jessamine Counties had been monitoring Elliott, already suspecting him of robberies in those two counties. Lexington police say Elliott robbed three different gas stations in Lexington. Nicholasville Police have also charged him in connection to three robberies there.
Nicholasville Police followed Elliott into Boyle County last night and witnessed the robbery at the hotel. Police say that investigation is the reason they were able to respond so quickly.
Elliott is in the Boyle County Jail charged with four counts of robbery but police say more charges are expected.
Elliott once worked as a 911 dispatcher in Jessamine County.
Officials say he hasn't worked there in more than a year.
