JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Deputies in Jessamine County say an anonymous tip led them to a field on Ash Grove Pike, not far from the Fayette County line.
"It's definitely one of the the larger ones we've found lately," said Deputy Anthony Purcell, with the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Purcell says deputies found two plots with more than 150 marijuana plants. They say each plant has a street value of $1,000 to $1,200.
"Usually we find about five or ten plants, so this was a significant bust," Deputy Purcell said.
Investigators also found a campsite nearby, complete with a tent, mattresses, running electricity and an irrigation system.
"It's definitely one of the most elaborate operations I've seen," Purcell said.
The woman who owns the property told WKYT she didn't know the elaborate growing operation was there.
"No, no, not at all," Willow Sierra said. "I've lived here for 20-years and nothing like this has ever happened."
At this point, deputies say they don't know who the plants belong to.
The marijuana will be logged into evidence, then destroyed.
