A woman says she's lucky to be alive after a suspected drunk driver plowed into her home.
The victim, Julia Hignite, says she was asleep on her couch when she was suddenly thrown across the room.
She looked up to see a hole in her Nicholasville home and a car pulling off.
"She could have killed me. Really, she could have killed me," said Hignite.
Nicholasville Police say they caught up with that car a short time later. They found a heavily damaged car parked outside a home, with pieces of brick still on it, less than a mile away from Shun Pike where the crash happened.
They arrested 33-year old Michele Glass. She's charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and having no insurance.
"This is what you do when you're high and you're driving. You almost kill someone and you put their kids in danger," said Hignite.
Hignite says her children were sleeping just one room away from where the car hit.
