A crash Tuesday morning on KY 29 in Jessamine County sent two people to the hospital. Nicholasville Police say A 19-year-old female driver tried to turn left onto KY 29 from Jessamine Station. She reportedly did not see a Jessamine County School Bus on KY 29 and pulled out in front of the bus. Police say the bus was not able to stop and collided with the car.
The teenage driver, who police say is not a student, was taking a student to school when the accident occurred. The driver of the car complained of arm pain and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The passenger in the car was not hurt.
Police say a middle school aged student on the bus was also taken to the hospital after complaining of hitting their head on the seat in front of them when the bus stopped. The driver and the remaining 41 passengers on the bus were not injured. Police say the rest of the students were delivered to their schools.
Nicholasville Police say heavy rains at the time of the crash may have contributed to the accident. They say the area where the crash happened is very congested and people need to use extreme caution driving in that area during morning and afternoon school times, especially when the weather is bad.
