Lexington, Kentucky - October 5th, 2012 – The Southern Lights Holiday Festival is returning for the 19th year to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Kids of all ages will delight in the holiday driving tour. Visitors can take in displays of the Christmas Village, the 12 Days of Christmas, Keeneland Race Track, Show Jumping, Steeplechase and the Spires of Churchill Downs—each composed of thousands of twinkling lights.
The indoor attractions return to the Southern Lights with holiday and craft vendors, seasonal entertainment, an exotic petting zoo, pony and camel rides, model train displays and photos with Santa. The 2012 Southern Lights is presented by Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky and is sponsored by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home and Café Press.
Southern Lights opening night is November 16th and runs through December 31st from 5:30pm to 10pm nightly. Indoor attractions will be open every night with the exceptions of November 22nd, and December 24th through 31st. Cost is $15 per car Sunday through Thursday and $20 per car on Friday and Saturday. In recent years, over 27,000 cars and 100,000 people have attended. All proceeds go to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.
