NICHOLASVILLE, Ky (WKYT) -
Saturday marks a new beginning for a Kentucky hero, U.S. Marine Cpl. Matt Bradford.
Bradford was serving his second tour of Iraq in 2007 when an IED exploded. His injuries left him a double amputee and blind.
Bradford was living in a home in Lexington that wasn't functional for his every day needs.
The Helping a Hero organization contacted Bradford and wanted to build a new home to cater to his needs. The organization builds specially adapted homes for veterans severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On Saturday, a special ceremony was held at the Bradford's new home in Nicholasville.
Senator Rand Paul and his wife Kelley presented Bradford and his family with keys to their new home on Saturday.
