A community is in shock after learning about the deaths of a couple police say were found shot.
42-year-old Paul Barbee and 39-year-old Maryanne Barbee were found dead inside their Sledd Street home in Bourbon County Sunday afternoon.
At this point, Kentucky State Police are calling this a death investigation.
Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry at the home, and they're still trying to determine exactly what happened.
Friends and family members of the Barbees say they're very upset by what happened.
"It's pretty rough," Keith Cloyd, a family friend, said. "They're hanging in there, but they're having a hard time with it. They're trying to be strong for each other, but it's one of those things you can only take so much."
The couple leave behind four children, ranging in age from 16 to 21.
We're told by friends of the family that a memorial fund has been set up at Kentucky Bank locations in Paris.
It's called the Barbee Family Memorial Fund, and will go to help the couple's children and funeral costs.
Autopsies for the couple were set today in Frankfort.
Police say it could be several days before more information is released in this case.
