A family was forced from their home early Tuesday morning after a fire broke out.
Firefighters were called to the home on West Seventh Street in Paris around 4 a.m.
A family of six, three adults and three children, were inside at the time.
Paul Thornsburg says his eight-year-old daughter first noticed the fire and alerted an adult.
"She woke us up and we just started grabbing people. No time to really think, just get out," said Thornsburg.
Everyone inside the home escaped safely.
Firefighters say the family had working smoke detectors, but they didn't sound because the smoke was escaping through a hole in the roof.
