Founded on a love of horses and nature, neurologist Dr. Regina Raab announced the opening of Gallery St. George, located at 431 Main Street, in Paris, Kentucky. The location will house a studio and art gallery to showcase her beautifully expressive pastels and oils paintings, which have been presented to many celebrities.
“A studio and art gallery seemed completely out of reach for so many years,” Dr. Raab said. “I have always loved horses and nature and have drawn and painted these subjects since childhood. However, medical school, neurology training, three daughters and a husband, and a horse farm have occupied almost all my time.”
“An intriguing small downtown building in Paris became available and with the support of my family, I have embarked on this project,” she explained. “The opening of Gallery St. George is scheduled for the end of June. We’ll celebrate the grand opening by inviting the press to attend on Friday, June 28, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.”
In explaining the name, Dr. Raab said, “St. George is often depicted as a valiant horseman slaying a dragon. He is the patron saint of horses and horsemen and is prominently displayed in the gallery.”
“I’m thrilled Regina is opening her gallery,” Revered James W. Sichko said. “Over the years, we’ve been proud to present her incomparable artwork to celebrities who have joined us for St. Mark Catholic Church’s “Evening Among Friends” events. This list is amazing: Regis Philbin, Bill Cosby, Martin Short, Natalie Cole, Dolly Parton, Harry Connick, Jr., Laura Bush and Donny Osmond all display her work in their homes.”
“Her art is spectacular and she is a treasure to the Bluegrass community,” he added.
