Smokin' Guns owner Jennifer Arnett had organized a raffle for a rifle, with proceeds going to the Paris Greyhounds football team. The school put a stop to it all, saying the setting wasn't appropriate.
"These are great kids and they deserve this opportunity and they deserve somebody to be trying to raise money for their cause," says Smokin' Guns store owner Jennifer Arnett. "The children were not selling raffle tickets. There were never gonna be any guns on school property. It was something the parents wanted to do and some of the coaches on the 3rd and 4th grade level and 5th and 6th grade level."
The raffle was expected to raise $10,000 for the football program. Arnett's still trying to find a way to help the team.
"I don't want to do anything to cause them problems, if they want to be completely out of it. We will try to do a fundraiser. We will still try to do this raffle that doesn't involve the school," says Arnett.
