Paris Police responded to a call at the Sonic restaurant on Reinhold Street on Monday afternoon. The caller says that a man exposed himself to a 15-year old female employee.
"Anytime you have a juvenile involved in a sex crime, it makes it much more serious," said Chief Kevin Sutton with Paris Police.
When the server came to his window, police say a man was exposing himself. He got away, but the server was able to remember his license plate.
After running information on the license plate, police got a warrant and went to Barton Short's home in Lexington. He was arrested on indecent exposure charges.
Short is on suspension from this teaching job at Paris Elementary school following his arrest. The school system tells 27 Newsfirst that Short teaches third grade. This is his first year teaching in the Paris School District.
Clay Good, the instructional supervisor for the district, says the school system was contacted by police after Short's arrest. The school system is cooperating with police during the investigation
