Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs farm announced today that Tiago is recuperating from colic surgery performed January 6th at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital near Lexington. As a result of this surgery it is expected that Tiago will miss the 2012 breeding season.
Tiago, a half-brother to Adena Springs’ Kentucky Derby-winning stallion, Giacomo, stood the 2011 season in New York at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, as property of Adena Springs. Tiago earned over $1.8 million on the track including wins in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) and Goodwood S. (G1).
