HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Black Friday may be over, but Cyber Monday is in full swing.

All day Monday, online retailers are offering deep discounts on all kinds of items.

So how does all that electronic shopping affect local businesses?

As millions of Americans click online or surf smartphones for killer deals, online retailers watch their profits add up. But what does that do to mom and pop stores?

David Napier is the owner of Sports World in Hazard. He admits that some local businesses are harmed by Cyber Monday but says e-shopping cannot provide small town service.

ComScore statistics show that 57 million Americans actually bought online on Black Friday, rather than brave the crowds.

Officials with the National Retail Federation say more than 40 percent of Americans bought a Christmas gift online last year and that number is expected to go up this year.
