PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - A verse in the bible says "in his name, the nations will put their hope." That is the theme for the 62nd National Day of Prayer.
Daryl Cornett is the pastor at the First Baptist Church of Hazard. He says the goal for National Day of Prayer is to bring together all of the Christian traditions in our community.
Neighbors, family and friends join hand in hand.
Jay Olinger says this is her first time attending the event, but it is powerful.
"All the pastors here that represented the churches here today, they were, they prayed those prayers just God send. It was wonderful," said Olinger.
Prayer speakers say we have a lot of challenges facing our community, but prayer leads to transformation.
