Alleged arsonist is arrested

An alleged arsonist is behind bars in Perry County.

Chris Caudill of Viper is charged with second degree arson following a fire in the Lothair community Thursday.

Hazard Fire Chief Sam Stacy says when they arrived at the home they noticed it looked suspicious and called the Hazard Police Department.

Following an investigation, Police Chief Minor Allen says it was determined Caudill started the fire.

However, a motive is not known.

He is being held at the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
