HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Students in the Entrepreneurship for the Public Good Program at Berea College are teaching what they know about social media to business owners and non-profit organizations in Eastern Kentucky.
Students talked about the value of using social media platforms to those attending workshops today. Organizers say this can help lead to a stronger economy in Eastern Kentucky.
"Recognizing the value of small businesses and recognizing the assets and making those assets available to outsiders could form a new economic base for Eastern Kentucky," said Peter Hackbert, the Director of Entrepreneurship for the Public Good Program.
There were two "Social-Local-Mobile" workshops in Hazard today.
