DWARFE, Ky. (WYMT) - The bridge on Kentucky 476 near Troublesome Creek in Perry County will be rebuilt later this month.
In the fall, a pickup truck drove off a bridge in the Dwarf community of Perry County, breaking the guard rail. Officials say they will begin repairing the damage on May 20th. While it is being fixed, detour signs will be up telling people to use Highway 80 and Kentucky 1146. Officials say repairing the bridge will cost $285,000.
"Kentucky 476 is a route that connects a large section of rural Perry County with the county seat, downtown Hazard, and it's on a school bus route and a mail route, so we need to make sure that traffic is unimpeded and has a safe roadway to travel on," said H.B. Elkins with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Officials say repairs are expected to begin May 20th and be finished by July 31st.
