HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Leslie, Knott, Letcher and Perry County Community Action Council officials say head start, job sight training and home care services are programs that are in danger.
LKLP officials say their federally funded programs open the doors to resources for those in need, but Executive Director Ricky Baker says sequestration has cut close to one million dollars from program budgets.
He says this could mean turning away those in need.
”A lot of these folks that we see every day at our congregate center, that may very well be the only, you know nutritious good meal that they get,” said Baker.
Right now Baker says they are adjusting program budgets in hopes of having as little impact on services as possible.
