A candidate for Perry County Commonwealth's Attorney says he was falsely accused of driving under the influence.
Jail officials say Cordell "Buddy" Williams, was arrested by Hazard Police at his home Saturday night.
The Hazard Herald reports a witness told police Williams hit a stone wall and drove off however, Williams says his wife was driving the car and he was just getting a pack of cigarettes out of the car at his home.
Police say his blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.
Williams, who is also the assistant county attorney, faces DUI charges but says he will fight the charges through court.
He is set to be arraigned in June.
