HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - Local health care providers were awarded for making their transition from papers to computers.
Officials with the Regional Extension Center recognized several health care providers and hospitals Friday from around Eastern Kentucky.
More than 15 awards were given out at the Center for Rural Health.
The awards focused on the transition to an electronically enabled health care system.
Officials say the transition is making long term impacts.
“It's not just about adopting the technology but it's really in the long run improved quality of care and a healthier community,” said Marketing Director, Megan Housley.
The systems remove the need for paper records and use electronic files that are easier for health care providers to access.
