PERRY COUTNY, Ky. (WYMT) It started out as a first for Perry County District Judge Leann Stephens.
“A lot of times, we try to do it the day they call, but a lot of times we’re really busy, so we just told everyone to show up Friday at 10:00 a.m.” Stephens said.
When five different couples called, asking her to join them in Holy Matrimony.
“Now several of them didn’t show up, but this is very unusual. We’ve never had this happen before,” Stephens added.
Noble Reed and his fiancée Christina Luttrell were one of two couples that showed up Friday and says tying the knot just feels right.
“We just talked about it between the two of us and decided if we were going to live together, we mind as well go ahead and be married because we love each other very much and get along perfectly,” Reed said.
Judge Stephens helped make the ceremony special by bringing a wedding cake and bouquets of flowers and gave each couple a little bit of advice.
“I think if you put God in your life; that helps a lot. And not to take each other for granted,” Stephens added.
